KidzArt Dayz: Reimagined
Every July, Two Rivers Gallery has proudly presented BMO KidzArt Dayz, a two day celebration of creativity through art, music, and movement. This family focused festival draws over 10,000 people to the Gallery and Canada Games Plaza for hands-on activities, engagement with artists, and a lot of fun. Due to COVID-19, KidzArt Dayz in its festival format will not be possible in 2020. While this is disappointing, Two Rivers Gallery is excited to work with local artists to reimagine how to celebrate creativity during this time.
Two Rivers Gallery is seeking submissions from Prince George and area artists for KidzArt Dayz in the Community. Community engagement projects that will surprise and delight residents of and visitors to Prince George while allowing for physical distancing. These projects will occur throughout August of 2020 and will be designed with family and individual participation in mind. It’s hard to say exactly what this celebration will look like because the content will be created by the artists themselves. Examples could include, but are not limited to:
- an artist-created scavenger hunt
- an online program
- a distancing pop up parade
- a public projection
- a public viewing of family friendly art
If you are an artist who would like to apply, please visit our call for submissions online.
Two Rivers Gallery is dedicated to connecting to the community and offering creative activities that families and individuals can experience and look forward to. This iteration of the festival is made possible through the support of the City of Prince George’s Celebrate Grant and the Government of Canada’s Local Festivals Grant.
