Vanderhoof based artist Annerose Georgeson has made the forest around her home a primary focus of her practice for the last two decades. This retrospective exhibition looks at Georgeson’s work over this time, tracing her journey through photography and drawing, mixed media and collage-based work, to painting in a variety of mediums. Not only does this body of work define the trajectory of the artist’s own development, but serves as a remarkable document of changes to the forest and the land brought by the mountain pine beetle, logging operations, and forest fire. Reflecting these events over a sustained period of time, Georgeson captures the resilience and power of nature to emerge as a singular artistic voice in North Central BC.
Openings are always free to attend and all are welcome!
